A new winter, a new ice stupa – construction on the Diavolezza
Last Saturday, it was time again: together with a motivated team of volunteers, the GlaciersAlive association prepared the Ice Stupa for this season at the Diavolezza valley station. Thanks to their energetic support, they were able to restore and reinforce the internal framework—a stable foundation that could be reused from last year. In addition, the control system was installed.
A particular highlight was the visit by the Flash Film Produktion TV. They accompanied them with cameras and microphones and filmed for the well-known TV show „Sendung mit der Maus“ . They were able to show them the construction process step by step and explain how an ice stupa works. From the structural and technical aspects to the water supply behind the impressive ice structure, there were many exciting details to discover.
